The process of applying for a residence permit and Visa can take a very long time!
The OEAD advises to submit the application at least 90 days before your planned entry to Autria, as the residence authority sometimes does take that long to review you application. The process can prolong if documents are missing
Important Information for Third-State* Students regarding the Visa-Preocedure
Every EMGS Student from a country outside the EEA and the EU (except Switzerland) need a residence permin to study in Vienna. The easiest reseidence titel to get as a student is the student residence permit.
As students of the EMGS programme, which is part of am EU mobility programme, you can get a special student residence permit for two years, allowing yourself to travel to you second-year destination without applying for a new residence permit.

- The OAED: The OEAD is in austrian agency with the goal of supproting high-quality, inclusive and equal education. On the OAED´s website, you can find information on the student residence permit..
- The Federal Ministry of European and international Affairs of the Repulic of Austria: The Austrian Ministry is the highest legal insitution regarding stay permints and student mobility. Information on settlement and residence permit can be found on the homepage of the Federal Ministry.
- The MA35: The MA35 is the local Viannese authority for immigration and residence. As soon as you finish you application at the Austrian respresentative authority in your country, the MA35 is responsible for organizing your residence.
